Makdi Narangi Jaivik Krishi Producer Company Limited is tucked away in Village Mageda. If you’re looking for us, we’re over in Bharrapara at Fooleshari Netam’s spot in Ward No 06. It’s a small village where everyone knows each other’s business. We’re mostly focused on the organic side of things, but it’s not all pretty like you see in magazines. It’s hard work, getting out in the fields and then coming back to the office to deal with all the forms and permits. The building is just a regular house, really. We’ve got a few desks and some chairs that don’t always match. The walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but that’s not really a priority right now. Most days, you’ll find Fooleshari or one of the others making sure everything is running right. We don’t have a big staff, so everyone ends up doing a little bit of everything. Sometimes we’re talking to farmers about their soil, and other times we’re just sweeping the floor. It gets dusty in the summer and muddy in the monsoon. We don’t mind it much because this is where we live and work. We don’t have any fancy slogans or big promises. We just try to make sure the farming goes okay and that the records are kept straight. It’s a quiet life in Mageda, but we keep busy enough with the daily chores.
