Fibre & Fibre

Working out of the Textile Market in Pandri is something else. It’s always packed with people and rolls of fabric moving around. Our shop, S-7, is right in the middle of all that action. We spend most of our time dealing with different kinds of fibres. It’s dusty work and your hands get rough by the end of the day. We don’t have a lot of space, so we have to stack everything high against the walls. If you come by, you’ll probably see us sorting through stock or talking to one of the delivery guys. It’s a loud place because everyone is trying to get their work done at once. We’ve known the other shop owners for years, and we all just kind of get along in this little corner of the market. Sometimes the electricity goes out and we just sit outside for a bit until it comes back. It’s not some big corporate operation. It’s just us and the materials we work with every day. We don’t use fancy systems, just a lot of manual labor and knowing which fibre is which by the feel of it. It’s a bit of a maze in here sometimes, but we know where everything is kept. That’s just how life is at Fibre & Fibre. We just stay focused on the task at hand and try to keep things moving. The market environment keeps us on our toes for sure, and we enjoy the daily interactions with everyone.
