Our place, Balajee Structurals India Ltd, is right at the Tatibandh Chowk on Ring Road Number 2. If you know Raipur, you know how busy this intersection gets at all hours of the day and night. We are situated near Jevan Jyoti Hospital, so we hear the ambulances going by quite a lot. The yard is usually full of structural steel and big heavy pieces that we move around with the old crane. It gets really hot out here in the sun, especially when you are standing around all that metal. The office is just a small cabin where the AC struggles to keep up with the heat. We don't really have a front desk or anyone to greet you, you just walk in and find whoever is available. Most of the time, the workers are busy loading up trucks for deliveries going out to different parts of the state. It is a dusty job and the noise of the machines is constant. We’ve been at this spot for a long time, and even though the name sounds big, we are just a group of people trying to get the orders out on time. Sometimes there are delays because of the traffic at the chowk, but that is just how it is living near a major junction. We keep a pot of cold water near the door for anyone who needs it because it gets so dry.
