Atharva Bricks

Our workplace at Atharva Bricks is situated in Village Pathri, right near the Panchayat Bhawan in the district. It’s a very local setting, and you can usually hear the sounds of the village while we work. Having the Panchayat Bhawan nearby means there’s often people walking past or gathering for meetings, so it doesn’t feel too isolated out here. We deal with bricks, so our yard is filled with rows and rows of them in different stages of being ready. We don't have a big marketing plan or anything like that. We just rely on people knowing we’re here and coming by when they need materials for a wall or a house. The weather really dictates our schedule; if it's too wet, we can't do much, and if it's too hot, we have to take more breaks in the shade. It’s a very practical kind of life. We use simple tools and do a lot of the work by hand, which is how it's always been done in Pathri. The soil here is good for making sturdy bricks, and we take our time with each lot. We aren't trying to grow into some huge company. We just want to keep the yard running and make sure we have enough stock for the local builders who rely on us. It’s just honest work that keeps us busy from dawn till dusk most days of the week.
