Our place is over in Nigdi, at Sector 26, Plot 64. It is right in the middle of the Pradhikaran industrial area in Pune. Because of where we are, there is always the sound of machinery and trucks moving around outside. We work with pumps here, so the workshop is full of heavy metal parts, tools, and the smell of grease. It is not a clean environment by any means. You usually end up with oil on your clothes before the morning is even over. We have big workbenches and concrete floors that have seen a lot of use over the years. We don't have a lobby or a fancy entrance. You just walk through the gate and you are right where the work happens. We spend a lot of time taking things apart and putting them back together to make sure they run properly. Sometimes a part doesn't fit right and we have to spend hours figuring it out, which can be frustrating. We talk to a lot of delivery drivers and suppliers every day. The work is hard on the hands and the back, but it is what we know. We are just a group of people who understand how these machines work and we keep at it until the job is done. It is a basic setup, but it works for us and the kind of heavy work we do here.
