Damgara Women Goat Farmer Producer Company Limited is a bit different because it is focused on the women in our community in Purnia. We are based in Village Kukraun Tola Amari and you can find us through Rajesh Sarraf. In this part of Bihar, goat farming is a big deal for the women who stay at home. It gives them a way to earn their own money without needing a lot of land. We formed this company to help these women get a better price for their goats. Usually, the buyers come to the village and offer very little, so we are trying to change that. Our office is a humble place in Amari where the women come to talk about the health of their animals and what they need for feed. It is a very practical, down-to-earth business. We are not marketing experts. We just know how to raise goats and we know that we are stronger if we work together. Purnia is a large district, but our world is really just these few lanes in the village. There is a lot of noise and activity when the goats are being moved or when we are having a meeting. We are just trying to make life a little bit easier for the families in our Tola. It is hard work but it is something we are proud of doing ourselves.
