Being based in Pune, things move at a certain pace at Zamil Steel Building India Pvt Ltd. It's an industrial kind of city, so we fit right in with the steel and the heavy machinery culture here. Our day starts early, usually with a lot of phone calls about logistics and where the next load of steel is currently sitting on the highway. We don't have a big, shiny lobby with a receptionist. It's more of a working office where everyone has their sleeves rolled up. The city of Pune is growing fast, and we see a lot of that growth in the stuff we work on every day. It’s mostly just metal and bolts when you look at it, but there’s a lot of coordination that goes into it behind the scenes. We deal with the heat in the summer and the heavy rains when the monsoon hits, just like everyone else around here. Sometimes the internet is slow, or the tea gets cold because we’re too busy talking about a project detail. We just focus on getting the buildings designed and shipped out. It's a lot of practical thinking. We’ve been at it for a bit now, and the routine stays pretty much the same. It’s not a glamorous job, but it’s what we know. We are just a group of people in Pune making sure these steel buildings actually get built and delivered to the sites where they are needed.
