We have a simple building where we do all our cooking and management. It isn't some high-rise office with glass walls, just a practical place with stone and concrete. We have been working out of this Pune address for a while now and everyone in the village knows who we are. Some days the power goes out and we have to scramble to keep things moving, but that is just life in this part of India. The kitchen is always humming with some kind of activity, whether it's the sound of knives on boards or the heavy pots being moved around. We don't have a marketing team to tell our story, we just have the people who show up every day to help out. The floors are a bit uneven and the paint is peeling in some corners, but the stoves work fine and that is what matters. We just keep doing what we do at Bankar Mala without much fuss. It is a long day for everyone, but we like the quiet of the evenings here.
