Vishwanath Pan Shop

Vishwanath Pan Shop is located over in Shukrawar Peth. Specifically, we are at Sumer Kendra on Pandurang Budhkar Marg. It is one of those old parts of the city where the lanes are a bit narrow and people are always walking by. The building at Sumer Kendra is easy to find once you are on the right street. I spend most of my day right here. I have lived around Shukrawar Peth for a long time so I know most of the shortcuts and the people. Pandurang Budhkar Marg gets its fair share of traffic during the middle of the day. It can be a bit of a squeeze when trucks are trying to unload nearby. At the shop, we keep things pretty basic. There is a shelf for the jars and a small area where I sit. It is not a place with a lot of extra room. The walls have seen better days but the shop serves its purpose. People stop by on their way to Sumer Kendra for various things. I usually have the radio playing quietly in the background, just enough to keep me company while I work. When it gets dark, the street lights on Pandurang Budhkar Marg flick on and the air cools down a little. That is my favorite time of the day. Vishwanath Pan Shop is just a small business trying to do its thing in a busy area. We do not worry about being fancy or looking like those big shops downtown.
