Visava Pan Shop

The APMC Yard in Sadashiv Peth is always moving. There is so much dust and noise from the trucks coming in. I run Visava Pan Shop here, and it is a small corner in Shankarnagar where things are always happening. My day starts when the first trucks arrive. I have to be ready because those drivers don’t like to wait. The shop is small, and sometimes the shelf gets a bit dusty because of the yard, but I try to keep it clean. It gets very crowded during the middle of the day. I know most of the guys who work around the yard. We don't talk about anything special, just the work and the heat. I have a small chair behind the counter where I sit when there are no customers, but that doesn't happen often. Shankarnagar has its own rhythm, and my shop is just a part of that. Some days are longer than others, especially when the shipments are late. I don't use any fancy machines or anything. It’s just me and the counter. People come to Visava because they know I’m here. I’ve lived in this area for a long time, so I know the shortcuts and the quiet hours, though quiet hours are rare in Sadashiv Peth. By the time I close, my back usually hurts, but I’ll be back tomorrow morning anyway. That’s just the job.
