Vinod Super Market

Down here at Chinchwad Tapkir Nagar, Vinod Super Market is where everyone comes for their daily stuff. You walk in and you see bags of rice stacked up near the door. It’s a bit of a maze sometimes because we try to fit so much onto the shelves. We have everything from soap to those specific spices your grandmother asks for. The morning is always the loudest time because everyone wants their milk and bread at the same time. I’m usually behind the counter, punching numbers into the machine. Sometimes the machine acts up and we have to do it by hand, which slows things down, but our regulars don't mind much. They usually just tell us about their kids or the weather while they wait. We don’t have fancy displays or those bright lights you see in big malls. It’s just us and the stock. We spend a lot of time checking dates and making sure the vegetables look okay for the evening rush. It’s hard work, standing all day and moving heavy crates around, but it feels good to know the neighborhood relies on us. When we close up at night, we’re tired, but we know we’ll be back doing the same thing tomorrow. It’s a simple grocery life here in Tapkir Nagar and we like it that way.
