Vijay General Stores

Started the day early today. The shutters at Kasarwadi 1 always stick a bit when it’s humid. This place isn't anything fancy, just a regular shop where we keep things people need every day. Sometimes it gets crowded when the factory shift ends and everyone wants something at once. The shelves are mostly full, though I need to sort out that back corner where the old ledgers are piling up. People around here know where we are, right near the main path. It’s been a hot week and the overhead fan is working overtime. I usually spend most of my time behind the counter checking what’s running low. Yesterday the milk delivery was late so that was a bit of a headache with everyone asking for it. We try to keep things organized but you know how it goes when you’re busy. The floor gets dusty fast because of the road outside. I’ve lived around here for years so I know most of the faces that walk in. It’s a quiet enough life, just keeping the stock moving and making sure the light bulbs aren't burnt out. Sometimes we sit out front on the plastic stools when there’s a lull in the afternoon. The tea guy comes by around four and that’s usually the highlight of the day. Nothing much changes here, which is fine by me. We just keep the doors open and do what needs doing till it's time to close up and go home.
