Venketesh Varities

You can find us over on Hennur Road, specifically at 16/150 in Gokhale Nagar. The shop is full of all sorts of things, which is why we call it a variety store. We have everything from small plastic buckets to pens and notebooks for the kids. It gets a bit cramped when more than three people come in at once because we have so much stock. We try to keep the most popular items near the front so people don't have to squeeze through the aisles. The traffic on Hennur Road is always moving, so there is a constant hum of engines in the background. We spend a lot of our afternoon dusting the shelves because the road brings in a lot of grit. It is a family thing, really. Someone is always here to answer questions or help find a specific size of something. We don't really do much advertising; people just know we are here in Gokhale Nagar. Sometimes the rain leaks a little near the front door, so we have to move the cardboard boxes quickly. It is a basic shop for basic needs. We see the same faces every week, mostly neighbors getting things they forgot at the bigger market. It is a steady life and we like being part of the street. We stay open late for those who work long hours. Sometimes we run out of change and have to go to the shop next door. It's just a normal everyday business for us.
