Our place is at Sadashiv Peth 2092. If you know the area, you know the lanes are narrow and can get quite crowded. V Tech Power Systems is mostly about batteries, inverters, and those kinds of heavy things. Moving the stock around is hard work because those battery units are not light. My back usually feels it by the end of the week. The shop is tucked away a bit, so you have to look for the sign. We have a small workbench in the back where we test things out or try to fix a unit that isn't holding a charge properly. There is a lot of wiring and copper bits lying around. It’s not the cleanest environment, but it’s where the actual work happens. When the power goes out in the neighborhood, that’s usually when the phone starts ringing non-stop. People get worried about their lights and fans. We just try to get through the orders as they come in. The walls are painted a pale blue that has faded over the years. I usually have a cup of coffee at my desk while I look over the supplier invoices. There is a small window high up on the wall that lets in a bit of sunlight, but mostly we rely on the overhead tubes to see what we are doing. We keep a ledger for the service calls we make when systems fail during the rainy season.
