You can find us in Narayan Peth, over near Rannapark. It’s a busy area, so parking is always a bit of a nightmare for anyone visiting. Uttara Impex Pvt Ltd has been operating out of this small office for some time. We deal with imports and exports, so there are always stacks of papers and shipping documents on the desks. Our phones ring quite a bit, mostly people asking about where their containers are or what the current rates look like. It’s not a very big space, just a few desks and some filing cabinets that have seen better days. We spend a lot of time talking to customs agents and transport guys. Some days are slow, while others feel like everything is happening at once. We don't have a receptionist or a lobby. If you walk in, you’re basically standing right in the middle of our workspace. We drink a lot of chai to keep ourselves going through the long afternoons. The building is older, but it works for what we need. We handle the logistics of getting goods from one place to another without making too much of a fuss about it. We’ve got a routine down now. It's mostly about staying organized and making sure the paperwork is filed correctly so nothing gets stuck at the port. We don't have time for fancy corporate meetings, we just get the job done for our clients and keep moving.
