Usha Telesystems

Usha Telesystems has been over at Anand Nagar on Paud Road 3/A/16 for quite some time. We started out when people were mostly worried about landlines and basic setups, but now it’s almost all about mobile phones and internet connections. The shop is in a bit of an older building, so the walls have a few cracks here and there. I usually sit at the front desk near the window so I can see who is coming. We have boxes of cables and old phone parts stacked up in the corner because you never know when someone might need a specific wire. It’s not the most organized place, but I know where everything is. The traffic on Paud Road is always a mess, so I hear a lot of honking all day long. I mostly work alone, but sometimes my nephew comes in to help when things get busy. We do a lot of small repairs and help people set up their routers at home. It’s a straightforward business without any bells and whistles. I keep a calendar on the wall to track the repairs, though I usually just remember who owns which phone. The floor is made of old tiles that have seen better days. It’s a quiet life for the most part, just helping the locals stay connected with their families. We open early and stay until the sun goes down, just keeping things moving along as best we can.
