Tulsi Super Market

Tulsi Super Market is situated at 96/3 in Chinchwad East, and we’ve been here for a good number of years. It started out as a much smaller place, but as the neighborhood grew, we kept adding more shelves and more products to keep up. Now we have everything from basic spices and grains to notebooks and pens for the local school children. The building is a bit older, so there is always some small thing that needs fixing, like a squeaky door or a light that won't stay on. Every morning starts with us checking the dairy delivery to make sure the milk and curd are fresh. My wife usually comes in during the afternoon to help with the bookkeeping while I handle the customers at the front. Chinchwad East is a noisy, busy area, so there is always the sound of horns and traffic coming through the door. We have many regular customers who have been buying from us since we first opened. Some of them used to come in as kids and now they bring their own families. We don't use any high-tech systems or wear uniforms; it’s all very casual and straightforward. Sometimes we just write down the totals on a scrap of paper if the power goes out. We just want to make sure the local families have a reliable place to get their kitchen staples like atta, sugar, and oil every day of the week. It's a lot of work but it's what we do.
