The Spices

We are over here at Khondhwa Survey No 5, right in the Hole Vasti area. It is pretty easy to find if you know where the Corinthian Club is, we are just near there. The Spices is just us doing what we do every day. Sometimes it gets a bit dusty on the road outside but inside it smells like everything we have on the shelves. It’s not a big fancy place or anything. We spend most of our time just sorting through things and making sure everything is where it should be. The morning starts early because that is when it is quietest around Hole Vasti before the traffic picks up. People stop by on their way past the club or coming from the main part of Khondhwa. We don't have a big team, just a few of us making sure the bags are filled and the floor is swept. It stays busy enough that we don't really sit down much until the evening. The light comes in through the front door in the afternoon and hits all the different colors we have piled up. We have been at this spot for a while now and most people in the neighborhood know where to find us. It’s a simple setup. Nothing too complicated about what we do. We just keep the doors open and get on with the work. The shelves are made of wood and they've seen better days but they hold everything up just fine. We usually have a radio playing somewhere in the back.
