Trimurti Flour Mill

Down the lane in Pulachi Wadi, right in the heart of Deccan Gymkhana, that’s where we are. It’s a bit tucked away, so if you aren’t looking for us, you might miss the entrance. We have been running these mills for a while now. The building is old, and you can feel the vibration in the floor when both machines are going at once. Customers bring in all sorts of things, mostly wheat, but sometimes bajra or corn. We just take the bags, weigh them on the old scale, and get to work. It gets dusty, especially when the wind blows through the open door. We try to keep it tidy but flour has a way of getting into every crack. Most of the people living around here know us by name. We don't have a big team, just a couple of us doing the grinding and bagging. The afternoons are usually quiet when everyone is having their rest, then it picks up again in the evening. There’s a small bench outside where people sit and wait. We usually have the radio playing some old songs to pass the time. It isn't a high-tech operation, just some sturdy machines and manual labor. We just focus on getting the job done right so people can go home and cook their meals. It's what we know. My hands are usually dry from all the grain dust, but it is what it is.
