The Haute Company

We are set up at 43, Tic Estate in Kondhwa Bk. It’s an industrial area, so there are always trucks moving around. The Haute Company is where we put together various items, mostly focusing on design and production. It’s not as fancy as the name might sound to some. Most of the time, it’s just the sound of sewing machines or the hum of the cutting tables. We have rolls of fabric leaning against the walls and threads of every color you can imagine. Sometimes we run out of a specific button and everything has to stop while we find more. It’s a bit chaotic during the busy season. We have a small crew and everyone knows their job. The lights are bright so we can see the stitches clearly. We take breaks together in the small kitchen area. It’s a lot of repetitive movement, but you get into a rhythm. The floor is usually covered in tiny scraps of cloth by the end of the shift. We try to keep things organized, but when you're working fast, things get messy. We aren't trying to be some big global brand; we just want to make stuff that looks decent and holds together. People come by to check samples or talk about new patterns. It’s honest work. We just stay focused on the needles and the cloth at No 43. Occasionally, someone brings in a cake for a birthday and we all stop for ten minutes. Then it’s right back to the machines because the deadlines don’t wait for anyone.
