Ssp Pattern Works

Out here in Bhosari, things are always moving. Ssp Pattern Works is tucked away in a spot where there’s a lot of manufacturing going on. We mostly deal with making patterns for casting and industrial parts. It's a lot of sawdust and noise. I started this place after working in a bigger factory for ten years and realizing I wanted to do things on my own terms. Most of my day is spent looking at drawings and trying to get the dimensions exactly right on the wood or metal we are using. If you miss a millimeter, the whole thing is ruined later on. My clothes are always covered in fine dust no matter how much I brush them off. We have a couple of guys who help out and we usually have the radio playing in the background to keep things lively. It’s not a glamorous job, but there is something nice about seeing a finished pattern ready to be sent off. We don't have a website or a marketing person. Most of our work comes from the other shops around Bhosari who know we do a decent job. The rain sometimes leaks through the edge of the roof, so we have to move the wood around to keep it dry. We just show up, do the work, and go home to our families when the sun goes down and the machines finally stop humming.
