We set up Telephone Shoppee in Shivaji Nagar quite some time ago. It’s a small shop, squeezed between a couple of other stores, but we make it work. Most days it’s just me behind the counter dealing with phones that won’t turn on or screens that are all cracked up. Shivaji Nagar is always moving, so there is plenty of noise outside. We keep a lot of chargers and cables hanging on the walls because people are always losing theirs. It gets a bit cramped when more than three people come in at once. Sometimes the lights flicker if we have too many things plugged in at the back. We don't do anything fancy with the displays, just put the boxes out so people can see what we have. It’s a lot of talking to people about why their battery is dying so fast. I’ve learned a lot about different models just by taking them apart every day. We don’t have a website or anything like that. If you need us, you just walk in. The fan on the ceiling makes a bit of a clicking noise, but we’ve gotten used to it. We try to be quick with repairs so people can get back to their day. It’s just a normal way to earn a living, really. No big corporate rules here, just us fixing what's broken for the local crowd. We like it this way because we get to see people face to face every single day.
