Telecom Equipment & Supplies

Our place, Telecom Equipment & Supplies, is located within the Ambethan G I D C Industrial Estate. It is a large area, and we are tucked in among many other sheds and warehouses. Inside, it is mostly rows of metal shelving stacked high with rolls of cable, connectors, and various boxes of equipment. It is not the most exciting place to look at, but it is functional. We spend a lot of time loading and unloading trucks that come through the estate. The dust from the industrial roads usually finds its way inside, so we are constantly dusting off the inventory. It can get quite lonely out here sometimes, just the sound of the wind through the corrugated metal roof and the occasional forklift driving past. We keep a small kettle in the corner for making tea during breaks. Most of our work involves checking orders and making sure the right supplies are going to the right people. We don't have a fancy showroom or anything like that. It is just a warehouse where we keep the things people need for their communication lines. Sometimes we have to climb the tall ladders to reach the top shelves, which is a bit of a workout. We just keep our heads down and manage the stock as it moves through the doors. It is a lot of counting and checking boxes every day, but it is what keeps the business going here.
