Our office in Pune is situated in the IAL Complex, which is part of the Rajbhavan Complex on Baner Road. If you know Pune, you know that Baner Road has become one of the busiest spots in the city. Getting into the office in the morning can be a bit of a struggle with the traffic, but once you’re inside, it’s a lot quieter. The space we have is functional. We have a few rows of desks and some computers that are always running. We don’t have any big signs or flashy lights. It’s just a place where we do our engineering and consulting work. Most of the staff here are locals who have been with us for years. We spend the day looking at project plans and writing up reports. There’s always a stack of paper that needs to be filed away somewhere. The break room is small, just enough for a fridge and a kettle. We tend to eat our lunch together and talk about whatever is going on in the city. The walls are a light grey color, and we have some old maps of the area pinned up. It’s not the kind of place that would win an award for interior design, but it’s where we get things done. We focus on the tasks at hand and try to stay on top of the workload. It’s a decent place to work, and we all get along well enough. Usually, we head out around six.
