Tata Bluescope Steel Ltd.

Our office is in the Metropolitan building, specifically at Final Plot No. 27, Survey No. 21, in Wakdewadi, Shivaji Nagar. It’s a bit different from a shop floor, but it’s still where the work happens for Tata Bluescope Steel Ltd. We have a lot of windows that look out over the Shivaji Nagar area. The traffic down below is always moving. Inside, it’s a mix of desks and filing cabinets that have seen better days. We have a small corner where we keep the water cooler and the coffee machine, which is usually where you’ll find people chatting in the morning. It’s not a silent office. There’s always someone on the phone or a printer going off in the background. We have stacks of blueprints and technical drawings sitting on almost every flat surface. Sometimes it feels a bit cluttered, but we know where everything is when we need it. The elevators in the building can be a bit slow, so we often end up taking the stairs if we’re in a hurry. We don't have any fancy art on the walls, just a few charts and maybe a map of the local area. It’s a functional space for a group of people who are mostly focused on the numbers and the logistics. We’ve been in this spot for a while, and it feels like home now, even with the odd hum from the air conditioning.
