Tata Bluescope Steel Ltd

You can find us at Survey Number 247 250 in Hinjawadi, near the New Darukhana area on Victoria Over Bridge Road. It is a large site because Tata Bluescope Steel Ltd needs a lot of space for all the metal we handle. The yard is usually full of trucks coming in and out with coils of steel and long metal sheets. It is a very industrial part of town, so it’s always noisy with the sound of cranes and heavy machinery. We spend our time in the office shed or out on the floor checking the inventory. The bridge road nearby is always jammed with traffic, which we can see from the main gates. There is a lot of red dust around here from the ground and the metal work. We wear our safety boots and vests all day, and it gets quite sweaty under the tin roof when the sun is out. We don't have a fancy lobby for visitors, just a gatehouse and some basic office rooms. The workers take their lunch breaks in the shade of the large stacks of steel. It’s a place where we focus on getting the orders loaded onto the trucks correctly. Everything is heavy and requires a lot of care so nobody gets hurt. It’s just a busy steel yard doing its work every day, surrounded by the constant hum of the city moving around us.
