We are located right on Doctor Annie Besant Road in Kothrud. Most mornings start with the sound of the shutters going up and the delivery guys dropping off crates of vegetables. It’s a bit of a tight squeeze in the kitchen when everyone is working at once. We spend a lot of time just prepping, like peeling onions and chopping green chilies until our eyes water. The stove stays hot for most of the day, which makes the back area pretty warm even when the fans are on full speed. Tasty Kitchen isn't a very big place, so things can get a bit loud during the lunch rush when the orders start piling up on the hooks. We try to keep things moving as fast as we can. Sometimes the floor gets a bit slippery with all the cooking, so we’re always mopping up during the quiet gaps. People from the nearby offices come in mostly for a quick meal. I usually sit at the small desk near the door to handle the bills. It’s not a fancy setup, just some sturdy tables and the smell of spices hanging in the air. By the time evening rolls around, we’re usually thinking about the next day’s grocery list. Kothrud stays busy until late, so we don't really close up until the street lights have been on for a long time. It’s just how things go here every day.
