I run Tanmay Mobile Shoppe on the Talegaon Thakkarbapa Nagar Road. It’s a small place in India Colony that gets quite a lot of foot traffic. Most of my day is spent hanging up phone cases on the hooks or helping someone put a screen guard on without getting bubbles under the glass. The road outside is usually noisy with scooters and people shouting, so it’s never really quiet here. I have a small stool behind the counter where I sit and wait for customers. The walls are covered with those colorful recharge cards and various cables that everyone seems to need. Sometimes the electricity goes out and we just sit in the dark for a bit until it comes back on. I know most of the people who walk past because they live right here in India Colony. We don't do anything too complicated, just selling what people need for their phones and sometimes helping them figure out their settings. The shop can get quite warm in the afternoons when the sun hits the front door, so I have a small table fan that makes a rattling noise. It’s just a regular local shop on Thakkarbapa Nagar Road. I’ve been here for a while now and I’ve seen the neighborhood change quite a bit, but the shop stays pretty much the same. It’s just me and the phones and the busy street outside, doing what we do every day.
