Vaibhav Laxmi Metal Works

We’ve been here at Dhayari for quite some time now. Most folks find us near Laxmi Industries at Sr. No. 30. It’s a busy spot. Inside, things are usually loud because of the machines running all day. We deal with all sorts of metal projects. It’s hard work, dusty too, but that is just how metal shops are. The guys here have been working these lathes and cutters for years. Sometimes the traffic on the way to Haveli gets a bit much, but we manage to get things out on time. People from around the neighborhood drop by when they need something welded or cut to size. We don't have a fancy office or anything like that. It’s just a workshop where we get our hands dirty. Sometimes a job takes longer than expected because a machine acts up, but we figure it out eventually. We started out small and stayed that way, which suits us just fine. You can hear the hammering from the road. Most of our day is spent measuring things and making sure the edges aren't too rough. It’s not a glamorous life, but it’s what we do. The sun gets hot in the afternoon in this part of Pune, so we usually take a short break for tea then. Then it’s back to the grinding and sparks. Sometimes the power fluctuations in Dhayari slow us down, but we just wait for it to come back and pick up where we left off.
