We’re over at 8 Salumbre in Bhimjipura. It’s a small place, very close to the Central Restaurant. If you know where the restaurant is, you’ve probably walked past us a dozen times. The street gets quite a bit of foot traffic, especially around lunchtime. I spend most of my day sitting in the office, dealing with insurance papers. It’s a lot of reading and checking dates. The office itself is pretty plain. I have a few desks, a printer that sometimes acts up, and plenty of pens. People come in when their policies are about to expire or when they’ve had an accident. It’s not a glamorous job, but it’s necessary. I don’t use those big words or fancy pitches you see on TV. I just explain what the paper says. Sometimes I have to go out to meet someone, but usually, I’m right here. The noise from the restaurant next door is a constant thing, but you get used to it after a week. It’s a local business, run by local people. We don’t have a headquarters in a big city. It’s just this one spot in Bhimjipura. I like it that way. It’s easier to talk to neighbors and keep things simple. No corporate rules, just doing the work as it comes in.
