Swadhar Vidyarthi Bhojnalaya

You can find us, Swadhar Vidyarthi Bhojnalaya, over at Nanded 15th Cross 4th Sector MCHS HSR Layout. We mainly look after students and folks who are living away from their families. It’s a bit of a mouthful of an address, I know. We started this because we saw so many young people eating junk food instead of a proper meal. Our kitchen isn't anything special to look at, but it’s always busy. We cook in big batches—rice, dal, and whatever vegetables are cheap and good at the market that morning. It’s not like a restaurant where you order from a huge menu. You just come in, sit down, and eat what’s ready. We try to make it feel a bit like home, though it’s hard when you’re cooking for fifty people at once. The benches are simple, and the plates are stainless steel. It gets pretty loud when the college nearby lets out. I’m usually the one making sure everyone gets a second helping if they’re still hungry. We don't make much profit, just enough to keep the lights on and pay the staff. Sometimes we run out of salt or gas, and someone has to run to the store real quick. It’s a bit chaotic, but it’s honest work. We’ve been here for a few years now and the neighborhood has changed a lot, but we stay the same. It's just simple food for people who need it.
