Suresh Communication

Our place, Suresh Communication, is tucked away on Lakshman Mudaliar street, right at the 2nd cross off Fergusson College Road. It’s a busy area and there’s always someone looking for something. We spend most of our time behind the counter dealing with SIM cards and recharge vouchers. The shop at 917/22 isn’t massive, so things get a bit cramped when we get a delivery of new handsets or accessories. You can usually find us trying to organize the cables or testing out a phone that someone brought in because it stopped making calls. The street outside is always loud with bikes and people walking to the college, so we keep the radio on inside to have some background noise. Sometimes the internet goes slow and we have to wait around to get things processed. We’ve got a few stools for people to sit on while they wait for their screen guards to be put on. It takes a bit of patience because the dust always tries to get under the glass. The sign outside has been there for years and the paint is peeling a little, but everyone around here knows where we are. We just keep things moving, making sure we have enough stock of the basic things people ask for every day. It’s a lot of repetitive work, checking serial numbers and writing out receipts, but it keeps us occupied from morning until we close up late at night.
