Sunny General Stores

This shop is at 659/11 in Bibvewadi, right in the Rajiv Gandhi Nagar Upper area. It’s a busy part of Pune and there are always kids running around outside. We sell a bit of everything, mostly snacks, cold drinks, and basic groceries like sugar and tea. The shop isn't very big, so things are stacked pretty high up. I have to use a small ladder sometimes to reach the top shelves. It’s a local place where the neighbors stop by to have a chat while they buy their groceries. We’ve got a couple of old fridges that hum quite loudly all day long. In the summer, everyone wants cold water or soda, so we’re always refilling those. The floor is just simple tiles and they get worn down from all the foot traffic. I do the accounts myself in a thick notebook every evening after we close the shutters. It’s hard work and the hours are long, but it’s a steady life. We don't have any big advertisements or flashy windows. Just the door and the goods we have for sale. Sometimes we run out of things if the wholesaler doesn't show up on time. We just tell people we’ll have it by the weekend. It’s a plain, honest shop for the local people here. We just try to keep things moving and keep things for the colony every day.
