Sukanta

Sukanta is located at 636 Deccan Gymkhana. We’ve been a part of this community for quite a while now. The building is solid and we’ve made it our own over the years. Inside, you’ll find us mostly moving around, making sure everything is in its place. We don't have a big mission statement on the wall. We just show up and do the work. Deccan Gymkhana is a busy spot, so we see all kinds of people throughout the day. Some are in a hurry and others want to linger. We try to accommodate everyone without making it a big deal. The furniture is comfortable but nothing you’d find in a luxury magazine. We like things to be practical. If something breaks, we fix it ourselves. We don't hire big consultants to tell us how to run the place. We just listen to what people say when they come in. Our staff is mostly local, so we know the shortcuts and the best times to avoid the traffic. It’s a lot of work to keep a place like this going every day. We spend a lot of time checking the details that no one else sees. It’s not a glamorous job, but it feels good to be a part of the neighborhood. We are just here at 636, doing what we do best and keeping things moving along. It is just our daily life here.
