Subhangi Caterers

Subhangi Caterers is run from our home at Hari Om Niwas in Chinchwad, Kalina. We started this because my mother is an excellent cook and everyone in the building kept asking her to make food for their parties. Now we do it as a regular business. We don't have a restaurant or a big commercial kitchen. We just use a larger version of our family kitchen. We prepare meals for birthdays, small weddings, and office lunches. The house always smells like fried spices and fresh rotis. We handle everything ourselves, from buying the vegetables at the Kalina market to packing the containers. It gets very busy during the wedding season and the whole house feels like a kitchen. We don't have any professional chefs, just family members and a few neighbors who help out when the orders are big. We focus on the kind of food we eat at home. Sometimes the delivery gets a bit delayed because the traffic in Chinchwad can be unpredictable. We try our best to get the food there while it is still hot. We don't do any big advertisements. People usually find out about us because they ate our food at a friend's house. It is a small way to earn a living, but we like it because we get to stay together as a family. We just want to make sure people enjoy their meal.
