Steel Fabrication

At Steel Fabrication, we work out of Shop No.16/10 on Sinhagad Road. We are positioned near the Nanded Phata, which is a landmark most people in the Lagad Mala area know well. Our shop is a place where you’ll always find sparks flying and the loud screech of metal being cut or ground down. It isn't a quiet environment by any means. The floor is usually covered in tiny bits of iron and steel, and we all wear heavy boots to keep our feet safe. We spend our days measuring out pipes and sheets, then cutting them to the right size for whatever project is on the bench that day. The sun beats down on the metal roof, making it pretty warm in the afternoons, so we usually have a big industrial fan blowing at full speed just to stay comfortable. We don't have a fancy showroom. People just walk right into the workshop and talk to us while we are working. Sometimes it’s hard to hear over the machines, so we have to shout a bit. We’ve got a regular routine of starting early, taking a break when the heat gets too much, and then pushing through until the evening. The work is hard on the hands and the back, but there’s a certain satisfaction in seeing a pile of raw steel turned into something useful by the time we lock up the gates for the night.
