Our workshop is in Hadapsar on Kothnur Main Road, over in Gourava Nagar, 7th Phase 37. It’s a loud place, full of the sound of metal being cut and the bright flashes of welding torches. We deal with steel all day long. The floor is concrete and usually covered in metal shavings and bits of scrap. We have some heavy machinery for bending and shearing plates, and it takes a lot of maintenance to keep them running smooth. We wear heavy boots and work clothes that always seem to have a few burn holes in them. It’s hot work, especially when the furnaces or welding sets are going. We don't have a polished office; the desk is usually covered in blueprints and measuring tapes. Most of our day is spent reading drawings and making sure the dimensions are exactly what the customer asked for. If a piece is off by a few millimeters, it won't fit, so we have to be careful. We take our lunch together out back where it’s a bit quieter away from the noise of the grinders. Steel Fab Engineering Pvt Ltd is basically just a group of people who know how to work with metal. We don't spend time on fancy talk or brochures. People come to us when they need something sturdy built out of iron or steel. It’s heavy, dirty work, but it’s what we do every day and we are used to it.
