Steel Corner

You’ll find us over at Rameshwar Chowk in the Mandai area, specifically at Budhwar Peth, Survey No 1106. Being near the market means it’s always loud and full of energy around here. At Steel Corner, we deal in steel items, mostly things for the kitchen or general household use. If you need a heavy pot or some plates that won't break, this is where we keep them. The shop is filled with the sound of metal clinking together as we move things around. It’s a bit of a maze inside with all the stacks of stainless steel. We’ve been at this location near the Monogram Mill for a long time. People come from all over this part of the city because they know we carry the sturdy stuff. It’s not a fancy air-conditioned place. We’ve got fans going and the doors stay wide open to the street noise. It’s a family-run kind of vibe. We don't use any high-tech systems, just writing things down in our books. Sometimes it’s hard to find a specific size in the pile, but we eventually get there. It’s honest work selling stuff that lasts for years. We like the hustle of the Mandai area. It’s the heart of the old city and we’re right in the middle of it. We don't have any big displays or lights, just the metal stacked up. It’s just how we’ve always done things here at Survey No 1106. The piles of tiffins and containers just keep growing every year. It’s a bit messy.
