Star Mart

Star Mart is located right inside Sahyadri Nagar, in flat C-103 of the Nenno Apartment building. It might seem like a bit of a strange spot to put a shop, being inside a residential apartment complex, but it actually works out quite well for the people who live here. We started this whole thing because there wasn't a convenient place nearby to grab quick things without walking a long way. We mostly stock the basics like milk, bread, snacks, and some cleaning supplies that you might suddenly realize you are out of. I spend almost all of my day sitting behind the small counter we have. The space is pretty tight, so we have to be really careful about how we stack the crates and boxes so people can still walk through the door. Sometimes the delivery men have a bit of trouble finding the right entrance because the building layout is a little confusing. We don't bother with big signs or flashy lights. It is just a simple place where you can get what you need without any trouble. It stays quiet until the late afternoon when the kids come back from school or folks get home from their jobs. That is when the shop gets crowded for an hour or two. We know almost everyone in the building and what they like to buy. It has turned into a nice little community spot. I’ve lived around here for a long time.
