Sri Ashthavinayak Departmental Store

Sri Ashthavinayak Departmental Store is right in the middle of Thergaon. We’ve been a part of this neighborhood for many years. Every morning starts with opening up the front and seeing who is already waiting for the day to begin. It’s a local shop, so we carry all the regular things that families need for their kitchens and homes. We don’t have any high-tech systems or bright flashing signs. It’s just shelves filled with goods and us behind the counter. Thergaon has grown a lot since we started out, and there are way more people around now than there used to be. We recognize most of the faces that come in. Some of the kids who used to come in for sweets are grown up now and bringing their own families. It’s a nice feeling to see that. The shop can get a bit crowded in the evenings when everyone is coming back from work and needs to pick up something for dinner. We try to keep things as organized as we can, but sometimes the delivery boxes take up too much space. We just work through it. We don’t do any big advertisements or anything like that. Our customers come here because they know us and they know we are here every day. It’s a lot of hours on our feet, but we enjoy being part of the daily life in Thergaon. We try to sweep the floor often, but the dust from the street always finds its way in somehow.
