Our workshop for Spice Projects Engineering (India) Pvt. Ltd. is located over in Kalamboli. Specifically, we are in Building No. 3, Shed No. 705, which sits on Plot No. 20-C in Sector-11. It is part of the Nell Sankul Building Cooperative Housing Society area, which sounds a bit confusing to visitors sometimes because it’s a mix of residential and industrial spaces. The shed is where all the engineering happens. It’s a big, open space with high ceilings and plenty of grease on the tools. We spend most of our hours here looking at drawings and working on project pieces. The air usually smells like burnt metal and oil. It’s not the quietest place to spend a day, especially when the heavy machinery is humming, but we’ve gotten used to the noise over time. Outside, the sector is always active. You see people from the housing society going about their business while we are unloading supplies at the shed. Finding Plot 20-C can be a little tricky the first time because all the buildings look similar, but once you see the sign for Shed 705, you know you’re in the right spot. We keep things pretty simple here. There aren't any big boardrooms or fancy reception areas. Just desks pushed into corners and plenty of floor space for the engineering equipment. It’s a real working environment, nothing more. We don't feel the need to dress it up. The focus is always on getting the engineering projects finished and out the door.
