Special Food Products

If you haven’t been to Raviwar Peth, you’re missing out on the real heart of Pune. It’s crowded, narrow, and full of history. We are near the Madal Masjid at number 1049. Special Food Products has been around this area for a while. The smell around here is the first thing you notice—spices, sweets, and all sorts of things being cooked or moved. Our place isn't big. It’s an old building, and the walls have that thick, sturdy feel to them. We deal with various food items, so there’s always a bit of a mess with bags and containers. Mice are a constant worry, so we have to be really careful with how we store things. The morning starts with the sound of the mosque nearby, and then the street just wakes up with a bang. People everywhere, cycles, handcarts, and those tiny little vans trying to squeeze through. It’s a bit of a squeeze getting into our shop sometimes. We don’t have air conditioning, just a couple of old ceiling fans that move the warm air around. We eat our lunch sitting on stools in the back. It’s a lot of manual work, lifting things and checking the quality of what comes in. It’s tiring, but it’s the kind of work we know. We aren't trying to be anything we’re not, just a small shop in a very busy corner of the city.
