Sonal Mobile Shopee has been at this spot in Shukrawar Peth on Ramdevnagar Road for a while now. It is a small space, but we manage to fit a lot of phone covers and screen guards on the walls. The area around Satellite 883 is always busy, so there is constant noise from the road. I usually sit near the front window working on phones. Most days are spent squinting at tiny screws and circuit boards. It’s not easy on the eyes, but I enjoy the challenge of making a dead phone turn on again. We have a glass case that is slightly cracked in the corner, but it holds the phones just fine. Sometimes people come in just to ask for directions or use the stapler. We don't mind. We carry a few different brands, mostly the ones people ask for the most. My cousin helps with the sales while I handle the technical side. We drink a lot of tea throughout the day to stay awake. The inventory gets a bit jumbled up sometimes, so finding a specific cable might take a minute. It is just the two of us running things. We don't have fancy uniforms or a big marketing plan. We just open the shutters in the morning and wait for the customers. It's a steady life and we like being part of the local market here. Even when it is raining, the street stays full of people.
