Smile Canteen

It is just a normal place here at Katraj 65. Most days start pretty early because we have to get everything ready before the first few people show up looking for a quick bite or something to drink. The chairs are just basic plastic ones and the tables have seen better days but they work fine for what they are. You can hear the noise from the main road all day long and it gets kind of loud inside when the fans are on full speed to beat the heat. We don't have a big team or anything, just a few of us making sure things are moving. It isn't the kind of place where you find fancy decorations or quiet music playing in the background. It is more about the clattering of plates and people talking over each other while they eat. We see a lot of students from the nearby colleges and workers who just want to sit down for twenty minutes before heading back out. The floor gets a bit dusty by the afternoon because of all the foot traffic coming in from the street. We try our best to keep up with the rush during the middle of the day but sometimes it gets a little chaotic. That is just how life is at a canteen in this part of town. We are just here doing our thing every single day. We don’t have much to brag about, we just keep the kitchen going for anyone who stops in.
