Working out of 24-A Hadapsar Industrial Estate means we are surrounded by factories and the constant sound of machinery. We’ve been here for a long time, making gauges and small measuring tools for other shops. It’s a dirty job sometimes, with all the metal shavings and the smell of cutting oil that never really leaves your clothes. The workshop floor is organized in a way that only we understand, with bins of half-finished parts and old blueprints rolled up on the benches. We don't have a front desk or anyone to greet you at the door; you usually just walk in and find one of us near the lathes or the grinding machines. The lighting isn't the best, especially on cloudy days, but we know where everything is. We spend hours making sure things are the right size, down to the last millimeter, because that's what a gauge is for. It’s slow work and you can’t really rush it without messing something up. Sometimes the power cuts out in the estate and we all just stand around the doorway talking until the generator kicks in or the lights come back on. It’s a practical place for people who like working with their hands. We don't do much advertising because the people who need these tools already know where we are in the estate.
