We've been at 31 Gultekdi Industrial Estate for a while now. It gets pretty loud around here with all the machines going all day. We handle small tools and engineering parts mostly. Usually, the day starts with checking the inventory and making sure the lathes are ready to go. It’s a busy industrial area, so there’s always trucks coming in and out of the estate. The floor gets a bit dusty but that’s just how it is in this line of work. Sometimes we have tea outside the gate when the power goes out for a bit. Most of us have been working here for years and we just get on with the job. The building isn't much to look at from the outside, just a standard block. Inside though, we keep everything organized enough so we can actually find what we need. People drop by if they need something specific made up or just to check on an order. We don't really do fancy meetings or anything like that. It's more about getting the measurements right and making sure the metal is cut the way it should be. Sometimes the machines act up and we spend half the morning fixing them. It's just part of the routine in a place like this. We've seen a lot of businesses come and go in the estate over the years, but we're still here. It’s not a glamorous job. You go home with grease on your hands most days.
