Shri Ram Market

Shri Ram Market is right in the middle of everything on Senapati Bapat Marg in Dadar West. Being in Camp, it’s always loud and there’s always something happening right outside our door. This part of Mumbai never really stops, and neither do we. We’ve been running this spot for years, dealing with all kinds of customers from early morning till late at night. The shop is packed with all sorts of things, from household goods to little bits and pieces you can't find in the bigger stores. We don’t have a fancy layout, things are just where they fit. Sometimes it takes a minute to find exactly what a customer is looking for, but we usually know where everything is buried. The monsoon season is always a bit of a struggle with the water trying to get in, but we manage with some old rugs and quick sweeping. It’s a family-run place, so you’ll often see my cousins or my father helping out behind the counter when things get busy. We don’t do any big advertising or anything like that, word of mouth has always been enough for us. People know they can just drop in and find what they need without any fuss. It’s just a humble business trying to keep up with the pace of the city. We’re just here doing our bit every day on the busy Marg, watching the world go by from the counter while the fans spin overhead.
