Shree Swami Samarth Power Line

Working on power lines means we spend a lot of time thinking about cables and electricity. Our home base is at Plot No. 73/74 on Ashram Road in Uruli Kanchan. It’s a good location for us because it’s right opposite the Bharat Petroleum pump, so it’s easy to tell people where to find us. We have a lot of heavy stuff lying around the yard, like rolls of wire and tools for the crews. It gets pretty dusty out here because of the trucks moving along Ashram Road all day long. The office is just a place where we keep the logs and handle the billing, nothing too special to look at. We start early most mornings, usually before the sun gets too high, because the work is hard when it’s boiling outside. It’s a local business through and through, and we’ve helped out a lot of the farms and houses around this area when their power goes wonky. We don't have a big marketing department or anything like that. People just know us because they see our trucks or they know someone we’ve worked for before. It’s a lot of physical labor and making sure things are safe for everyone. We take our tea breaks when we can and try to keep the equipment in decent shape. It’s honest work and it keeps us busy enough throughout the year, even when the weather isn't helping us out much.
