Fiber Glass Industries

Fiber Glass Industries is out on the Pune Nasik Road. We are at Gate No. 718, which is right near Hotel Anand Cafe. If you are driving up from Pune, you’ll see the cafe first and then our place at Post Peth in Ambegaon. It’s a dusty spot because of all the trucks going by on the highway. Inside the shed, it’s mostly the smell of resin and the sound of machines. We work with fiberglass all day, so everyone wears masks and old clothes. It’s not clean work. You get the fibers on your skin and it stays there. We have a small crew from the local village and some from Peth. We don't have a fancy showroom. Most of our stuff is just stacked up waiting to be loaded onto a tempo. The weather out here in Ambegaon changes fast. One minute it’s sunny and the next it’s pouring rain. We have to keep the materials dry, which is a constant job. Usually, we take a break and go over to Anand Cafe for a quick bite. It’s a plain factory life. We don't have a website or a social media person. We just answer the landline and talk to the drivers. It’s a lot of manual labor and sticky hands. We just keep the production going day after day.
