Shree Mallikarjun General Stores

We have been running Shree Mallikarjun General Stores here in Shivaji Nagar for a long time now. It’s a busy part of Pune, and there is always something happening outside on the street. Usually, we start the day around seven in the morning to get everything ready before the first lot of people come by on their way to work. It’s a small space, so we have to stack things pretty high to make everything fit. You’ll find all the basic stuff here like soap, biscuits, and some grains. Sometimes the tea runs out faster than I expect, so I have to keep checking the stock in the back room. The traffic in this part of Pune is quite loud, but we are used to it after all these years. My cousin helps me out behind the counter when it gets crowded in the evenings. We don’t really have a big staff, just a couple of us making sure things are in order. The shelves are a bit old, but they hold up. Shivaji Nagar is a good place to be, even if it gets a bit dusty when the wind picks up. I guess we just keep the door open and wait for whoever needs something. It isn't a fancy place, just a regular shop where people stop for a minute or two. I spend most of my day sitting near the entrance, watching the bikes go past.
